Saucey “Baked” Beans

Want to make baked beans but don’t have several hours to spare? That’s ok, neither do we. That’s why we like this quick recipe – baked beans in under 30 minutes! Who knew?

Serves 4

Adapted from Hunt’s

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1/4 cup bacon, diced into small pieces

1/4 cup chopped onion

1 can (15 oz each) whole black beans, drained and rinsed

1/4 cup Sweet Jalapeno Ketchup

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon brown mustard

Method

  1. 1/4 cup water
  2. Heat oil in medium saucepan over med-high heat.
  3. Add bacon and onion; cook until onion is tender
  4. Add all remaining ingredients
  5. Reduce heat to med-low. Cook 10 minutes or until flavors blend, stirring occasionally.
